These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StoryKeeper website, apps, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Other policies. Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy & Data Policy, Interview Participant Consent, and any other policies we publish (collectively, the "Policies"). The Policies are incorporated by reference. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a Policy, the Policy controls on that topic.
1. Who We Are
StoryKeeper is operated by Yuja Labs LLC ("**StoryKeeper**," "we," "us," or "**our**").

2. Eligibility and Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account and for maintaining account security.
- We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts as described in Section 11.
3. The Service
StoryKeeper helps families capture stories and create outputs (such as transcripts, narratives, and illustrated storybooks). Certain features may require payment or credits.
We may change, update, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including adding or removing features.
4. Invitations and Participation by Non‑Account Storytellers
The Service may allow you to invite a storyteller (for example, a parent or grandparent) to participate via an emailed or texted link.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to invite that person and to provide their contact details to us.
- The storyteller’s participation is governed by the applicable Recording & Consent Notice presented during their experience.
- Invitation links are personal and should not be shared publicly.
5. Your Content
5.1 What counts as “Your Content”
“Your Content” includes the materials you or invited participants submit to the Service, such as recordings, text, photos, prompts, and any other inputs.
5.2 Your responsibilities
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have necessary rights and permissions to submit Your Content;
- Your Content does not infringe or violate anyone’s rights (including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property);
- Your Content complies with applicable laws and these Terms.
5.3 License you grant to StoryKeeper
You grant StoryKeeper a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display Your Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service (for example: transcription, story generation, illustration generation, formatting, delivering outputs, customer support, and safety).
This license continues until you delete Your Content from the Service or close your account, except to the extent we must retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes as described in our Privacy and Data Policy.
6. Generated Outputs
The Service may generate outputs based on Your Content (for example: transcripts, story drafts, summaries, illustrations, and compiled storybooks) (collectively, “Outputs”).
- Outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete, and may contain unintended similarities to existing works.
- You are responsible for reviewing Outputs before sharing, publishing, or printing.
StoryKeeper grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use Outputs for private, non-commercial, family purposes, subject to these Terms.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
- Upload or generate content that violates others’ rights or is defamatory, harassing, or exploitative;
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its security;
- Circumvent usage limits, access controls, or paywalls;
- Use the Service to develop or train competing models using outputs in a way that violates these Terms.
8. Third‑Party Services
The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party services (for example: payment processors, cloud infrastructure, analytics, messaging providers, and AI services). Your use of third-party services may be subject to their terms.
9. Paid Features, Credits, and Subscriptions
If the Service offers paid features (including credits or subscriptions), your purchase and use will be governed by our Purchase Agreement and Refund Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
- StoryKeeper (and its licensors) owns the Service, including software, design, interfaces, and underlying technology.
- These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary materials.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service unless permitted by law or by written agreement.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause, in our sole discretion.
This includes, but is not limited to, situations where:
- you violate these Terms or any Policies;
- your use of the Service creates risk or potential harm to other users, third parties, or StoryKeeper;
- we choose to discontinue the Service or any portion of it; or
- we determine, in our sole judgment, that suspension or termination is appropriate.
We are not obligated to provide a reason for suspension or termination, and we will not be liable for any resulting loss of access, data, or content, subject to applicable law.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described in our Privacy and Data Policy.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYKEEPER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
StoryKeeper does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Outputs will be accurate.

13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYKEEPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYKEEPER’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO STORYKEEPER IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StoryKeeper and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your Content;
- Your use of the Service;
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
15. Disputes and Governing Law
15.1 Informal resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at storykeeper@yuja-labs.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
15.2 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States of America, without regard to conflict of laws rules.
15.3 Venue
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time at our discretion.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes (for example, by posting an update in the Service or sending an email), but we are not required to do so, and it is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically.
Continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Miscellaneous
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Policies form the entire agreement regarding the Service.
